Fit Text to Path is one command you cannot do without in CorelDRAW. It allow users to wrap text around a container. I have highlighted 3 basic ways this special command can be used.
1. The right-mouse approach
Type the text you want to wrap around your container, get your container ready as well. In this instance, we are going to be using circle. Drag your text with the right-mouse to the edge of the container. Immediately you get it near the edge with the right-mouse, a circle-cross-like button appears, release the mouse, and a drop down list appear as shown below, all you need to do is to select ‘Fit Text to Path’.
2. Selection method
In this case, select the text to be wrap around the container, hold your SHIFT command and select the container too. The reason you have to select the text first is that it is the text that must go around the container not the other way round. So you have to note that anytime you want to use this method, the text to be wrapped around a container must be selected first. After you have done this, select Text/Fit Text to Path, and it will immediately wrap around the container. See example below:
3. The Manual directional feed
This is the one I use often. All you need to do is to select the text, go to Text/Fit Text to Path, an arrow will appear, place it on the edge of the container, an imaginary image of the text will guide you on where to place it. Immediately you are satisfied with the position, click on it, and you will have it wrapped around the container.
Open your CorelDRAW software and start practicing using these 3 useful steps I have just explained.
