Simple tags can be created in CorelDRAW using the Rectangle Tool and the Ellipse Tool. This tutorial will also teach you how to convert to curves. Basically, we will take you through the simple task of creating a ‘simple tag’.
Make your document background black. Click on your Rectangle Tool and draw a rectangular shape on the black background document, apply red. Convert the shape to curves by going to Arrange/Convert to Curves (CTRL+Q). Click on the top-center of the object and double-click to apply a node on it. Drag it upwards as shown below:
Use your Ellipse Tool to draw a circle around the neck of the tag. Draw a circle around the neck of the tag and use it to trim it, to leave a hollow space in between.
Draw another circle at the back of the one used initially to trim the neck of the tag. Fill the middle hole with black and apply a gradient feel to the outer one as shown below:
Draw a V-shape line as shown below and click on the base to curve it so that it will have that rope-like shape and apply colour yello as shown below:
Use your shape tool to trim off the portion of the rope on top of the tag.
With the above tutorial, I believe you can now play around how to use the rectangle and ellipse tool to create a simple shape in CorelDRAW. Also your comment and observation will be appreciated.
