Today’s Quick Tip is centered on how to fit text to path in Adobe Photoshop. Often times designers find it hard to wrap text around objects in Adobe Photoshop. It is pretty easy here in Photoshop. Photoshop introduce fit text to path when they launched the CS version of Adobe Photoshop which enable users to fit text to path on circle, straight lines and even any form of outline.
It is quite a simple method which will not make you sweat at all.
Step 1: Open a New Page with CTR+N or File/Open.
Step 2: Select the Eclipse Tool from the Toolbox.
Step 3: Remember that whenever you pick a tool from the Toolbox, the property of the selected tool appear below the Menu Bar as shown below. Before you draw your circle, select (click) the path as highlighted below. The reason for this is to give you only outline for the circle
Step 4: Draw a perfect circle by holding down the SHIFT key from your keyboard. You can as well hold the ALT key at the same time to increase it from both sides, while the SPACEBAR will help you center what you are drawing at the middle of the page.
Step 5: Choose the colour you want your text to appear from the TEXT properties under the Menu Bar as shown below:
Step 6: Place the TEXT tool on the edge of the circle outline, it will turn from the ‘T’ symbol to an arc like symbol, click on it, and start typing
Step 7: To adjust the text, choose the Path Tool from the Toolbox, click on it and drag it to whichever position you want it to be.
