Content Aware Fill came with CS 5 version of Photoshop, and it is a relief in terms of cloning and removing unwanted stuff from images. The traditional way to remove the unwanted spot has always been with the Clone Stamp and Healing Tool, but with the Content Aware Fill, it has been made very simple and our job easier.
We are going to be using the image below as a case study.
The idea is to remove the flowers on the background.
With the use of your Lasso Tool, make a selection around the flower you want to clean. Please note that you have to do this one after another in other to get it right.
Go to Edit/Fill or press SHIFT + 5 on your keyboard, the Fill Dialog box appear. Make sure it is set on Content Aware from the drop down as shown below:
Immediately that is set, click OK or ENTER from your keyboard. Select the flowers layer by layer and repeat the same process. Your result should be like what we have below:
With the New Content Aware in CS5 and CS6, I’m sure it will reduce then stress of having to use Clone Stamp and other tools like the Healing Tool.
Remember, with Photoshop Quickies, you will surely have a creative orgasm.
